| With Christmas a hazy memory, children back at school and our workforce back to normal, its time to look at what is occurring for the rest of the year.
I am very pleased to announce that we are offering some new products in 2008 and have provided a brief summary of some of these: Allan Parker courses, Conversations for Growth and Mind over Money.
So, what’s set to happen to you this year? We all hope that you have got off to great start and that your personal and business goals are kicking in. We are particularly interested in how well you consider you are being pushed in this area. | Do you Motivate or Inspire? |
| "When we motivate, we serve our selves first; when we inspire we serve others first. Motivation comes from the fear inside us; inspiration comes from love outside us." - Lance Secreten
Recently I came across this question in an article by Lance Sectran. Lance, a business coach and advisor to many very large corporations in the US, suggests we we have begun confusing the words “motivation” and “inspiration.”
The word inspiration is derived from the Latin root spirare meaning “spirit,” to breathe, to give life. Webster’s Dictionary defines inspiration as “breathing in, as in air to the lungs; to infuse with an encouraging or exalting influence; to animate; stimulation by a divinity, a genius, an idea or a passion; a divine influence upon human beings.”
Motivation comes from a place of fear. It creates an attitude of scarcity and self-concern—“I want to change your behaviour with a reward or incentive, so that, if you meet the targets or goals I set for you, I will meet my own needs and goals.”

| This book about one of America’s legendary football coaches explores in an easily readable way, some of the attributes that made Vince Lombardi the legend he became. The book appealed to me for two reasons.
First, Lombardi spoke of keeping things simple. For him there were only two important moves in football – blocking and tackling and that is what he focused on.
Second, the passion of Vince Lombardi is inspirational. It is passion with a difference. Lombardi works within a very tight structural framework and has clearly defined processes.

| This business networking program which was introduced just prior to Christmas has three chapters confirmed which have exceeded all our expectations. In keeping with our regional efforts, we have established a chapter in Toowoomba servicing South East Queensland. Additionally, there are two interstate chapters - Sydney and Melbourne.
